2022

Bob, now the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board at Novem Group, nominates Patrick Manuel to fill the role of President. Hired from a successful sales leadership position in 2014, Pat's integrity, work ethic, and vision support the growth of Novem Group and will continue shape the firm for years to come.

2018

Novem Group expands, opening a satellite office in Jupiter, Florida.  Although already available to clients nationwide digitally, this new office allows for in-person consultations with Florida clients.

2011

Bob takes the investment side of the business to the next level and launches his own RIA (Registered Investment Advisor firm), APFS Wealth Management, Inc. DBA Novem Group. The firm would later simply become "Novem Group."

2008

Charlie Herendeen leaves a long tenure with a national retirement and benefits consulting & administration company to join Novem Group as Managing Director of Retirement Plan Services. Under Charlie's leadership, the retirement division sees unprecedented growth.

2001

American Portfolios Financial Services, of which Bob was a founding member, officially launches as a broker-dealer.  This new designation allowed Advisors to continue putting the Client first, without being captive to any specific investment company.

1994

Novem Group was founded by Robert Bartolotta in Rochester, NY to offer financial and insurance planning to individual clients. The company quickly expanded to include employee benefits, allowing individual clients to bring their business needs to the firm.

Tosin Deju

Tosin joined Novem Group with over 20 years of experience in the financial industry, and 15 years as a management consultant. She worked previously with IBM Global Business Services in the Financial Services practice as a Senior Change Management Consultant and Project Manager. Prior to that, she worked with Datek Online as a Customer Service Rep and an Accounts Principal, and held her Series 7, 63, 24, and 4 licenses.

Tosin holds an MBA in Finance, Entrepreneurship, and Entertainment, Media & Technology from the NYU Stern School of Business. She was a Consortium for Graduate Studies in Management Fellow, and selected student representative for the Harlem Small Business Initiative and Clinton Foundation Partnership. Tosin also holds an undergraduate degree in Biological Sciences from Rutgers University.

Tosin serves on the board of directors of Providence Foundation, a microloans program supporting local widows in entrepreneurship in Africa. She is also the Secretary for the Mary Adetayo Okunuga Foundation, a non-profit organization that aids families in need in Africa. She is married with three daughters, and lives with her family in Georgia.

In late December of 2021, Tiffany started working for Novem Group as an administrative assistant. She soon advanced to the position of Client Service Associate. After that, Tiffany was given the opportunity to work directly for Stephen Roehrig and Thomas Froehlich. Tiffany is a licensed notary public in the state of New York and is presently pursuing her series 65. Tiffany graduated from Bryant & Stratton College with an associate's degree in paralegal studies. For three years, she served as a receptionist at Woods Oviatt Gilman LLC & Harris Beach PLLC, helping clients and handling administrative tasks for each department's practice.

Tiffany and her fiancé reside on Hemlock Lake with their German Shepherd, Bernise Mountain Dog, and cat. In her free time, Tiffany likes to travel, cook, work out at the gym, and spend time with her fiancé and animals.

Megan has been with Novem Group since 2007. Starting out as the Executive Assistant to Robert Bartolotta, she was quickly promoted to Account Manager in 2008. Megan managed group insurance accounts until May 2013, when she changed her schedule to part-time after the birth of her son. For 7 years, Megan provided administrative support to not only the employee benefits department, but also payroll, and retirement services. In 2021 her role shifted from administrative to operations by taking on the position of Compliance Associate. Having over a decade of experience with Novem Group, Megan has the versatility to help with specialized projects in all areas of the business.

Megan is a 2006 graduate of Canisius College with a BA in Communication Studies and Art History. She graduated Summa cum Laude and received several honors for her academic achievement, including those for Academic Excellence and Highest Honors/GPA in both Communication Studies and Art History. Megan lives in Pittsford with her husband, David, and their two children.

Matthew Spilfogel

Matthew graduated from Columbia Southern University in 2014 with a Bachelor’s in Business Administration & Management and currently holds his Series 65 license. Krissi Cook

Krissi joined Novem Group from Unisys Corporation and Burroughs Payment Systems in 2011. Originally the Customer Service Manager for Novem’s payroll and HRIS division (which has since been phased out), Krissi built and led the client-service and implementation teams for all payroll and human resource clients. In 2019, Krissi’s sales-support, vendor, and project-management experience became critical to managing the ongoing growth of Novem’s investment division, so she transferred focus to the wealth department and now utilizes her 20+ years of experience on behalf of multiple Financial Advisors as they build their investment practices, and for the expanding Group Retirement Services Department.

Krissi resides in Penfield and enjoys spending time her husband Doug and their children, Makaylah and Aiden.

Kim Kosko

Kim joined Novem Group in 2019 as an Administrative Assistant and quickly proved herself an invaluable asset, earning a promotion to Manager of Client Services in 2021. In this leadership role, she supports Financial Advisors across both Wealth Management and Group Retirement Services, while also managing the Client Service Associate teams in Rochester, NY and Jupiter, FL.

Charlie joined Novem Group in August of 2013, although he has been affiliated with the firm for over 15 years. He is responsible for providing group retirement plan solutions for all types of organizations as well as wealth management and financial planning services for individuals. She also served as vice president of offering strategy, guiding programs that supported Xerox’s partners in the small and medium business sector. Additionally, Cathy led the corporate strategy intelligence function and served as vice president of strategy and communications, overseeing strategic development and execution across Xerox’s business divisions.

Cathy’s career began in the United States Air Force, where she served as a program manager for aerospace and electronics systems acquisition. Her outstanding contributions earned her both the Meritorious Service Medal and the Air Force Achievement Medal for successfully bringing new capabilities to U.S. and allied forces.

She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in aerospace engineering from Boston University, an MBA from the University of Dayton, and the Certified Financial Planner designation (CFP®). Cathy has also completed executive education programs in product development, leadership, and management from Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management and Columbia Business School.

Born and raised in Rochester, New York, Cathy returned to her hometown after her military service to raise her two sons. She is an active community volunteer and enjoys gardening, kayaking, and reading, both at her home in Pittsford and at the Finger Lakes in upstate New York.

Andy has an extensive background in the financial planning industry as an advisor and a corporate executive. He began his career with American Express Financial Advisors in 1983, becoming an advisor before going into a leadership position as the Field Vice President in the Princeton, NJ office, where he supervised 75% of the advisors in the State of New Jersey.

In 1998, Andy joined Prudential Financial as Senior Vice President of Financial Planning, where he was responsible for the creation and implementation of a Fee-Based Financial Planning program across the United States. In 2000, he relocated to Atlanta, GA, as Senior Vice President of the Southern Territory, where under his leadership, he supervised 20% of the advisors in the United States.

He is the proud parent of three children, Andrew, a financial planning major who graduated from The University of Alabama and is a Financial Planner in Atlanta, Justin, a sports marketing graduate of The University of Alabama who now works in Corporate Relations for the Chicago Bears, and Jamie Nicole, a Graphic Design and Business major who graduated from Samford University and now works in the medical franchising industry in Birmingham, Alabama.

In his free time, Andy enjoys golfing, fishing, traveling, and watching all major sports. He is an active member of Calvary Church of Jupiter.

Andrew is the Financial Controller at Novem Group, where he manages the firm’s internal financial operations with discipline and foresight. A graduate of St. John Fisher University with a degree in Accounting and an MBA, Andrew is responsible for budgeting, reporting, and long-term financial planning that supports the firm’s continued growth and stability. Known for his thoughtful approach and steady presence, he plays a vital role in maintaining operational efficiency across the organization. Outside of work, Andrew enjoys life in the Rochester area with his wife and two children and brings the same sense of balance and dedication to his personal life as he does to his professional one.

Amanda Esteves

Amanda joined Novem Group in September of 2008 as the Executive Assistant to the CEO, Robert Bartolotta. Over the years, she has supported financial advisors with their practices at Novem Group and has been involved in the firm’s overall operations and compliance. Amanda began supervising advisors in 2013 and led the compliance department as CCO from 2019 to 2024. She has since decided to focus on financial planning for local individuals and small business owners. It was a difficult decision to move on from the CCO position as that achievement was one that Amanda is very proud of. The migration to advising individuals originated from her strong dedication to help people and genuine ambition to make a difference in their financial success. With experience in both the customer service and fiduciary elements of financial planning, Amanda brings a fresh, well-educated perspective.

Amanda holds the SIE, Series 4, 7, 24, 63, and 66, and is currently pursuing the CFP® certification.
Amanda lives in Rochester, NY with her husband and two daughters. Outside of the office, Amanda enjoys trying new recipes and traveling with her family.

As a comprehensive planner, Adam helps his clients develop strategies to accumulate, protect, and distribute their retirement savings and wealth.

Before Novem Group, Adam was an advisor at AXA Advisors. There he spent much of his time devoted to helping teachers and staff in the local public schools with comprehensive wealth management and financial education. Mr. Morgan continues to serve this community today and has an extensive client base in the local schools of the Greater Rochester area.

Before Adam joined the financial services industry, he was a Production Supervisor at a local float glass manufacturer, Guardian Industries, in Geneva, NY. His passion for finance and serving others eventually led him to this industry, where he found AXA Advisors.

Mr. Morgan is a graduate of Alfred University, where he earned his B.S. in Mechanical Engineering (Cum Laude) and Business Administration (Cum Laude). While attending Alfred University, Adam played soccer for four years and earned All-Region Honors. He continues to be involved as a board member of the Alfred University Alumni Council. Adam resides in Spencerport, New York with his wife Kristi, twin boys Gavin and Noah, and their energetic Australian Shepard, Parker. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with family and friends, playing soccer, and being a lifelong learner.
