Weekly Reading 3/21/2022

Headed out of Rochester tomorrow to visit one of my best friends. He is reasonably high up at the Air Force but is currently stateside. If he cancels the trip and can’t provide details I’m going to take that as a “sell” signal.

Francis Fukuyama is one of the better Political Science thinkers.

His book The End of History and the Last Man is terrific.

Recently, he offered 12 hot takes on the Ukraine War, notably, outright Russian defeat.

As much as I want Russia to lose and Putin to disappear, I’m not sure a swift downfall is the best outcome.

People keep asking “what is the market going to do?”

We don’t know what the market is going to do.

The Ponzo Illusion

Even though I know the Ponzo Illusion is an Illusion, I still can’t stop looking at it and trying to measure the images with my fingers like an idiot.
